Arncliffe Scots Netball Club Photography and Video Policy

This Policy should be read in conjunction with the Netball NSW Photography Policy (v3 Jun2 2020 )

As per the Netball NSW Photography Policy,

• In Australia there is no law restricting photography or videography of people including children in public spaces with a few exceptions regarding indecent, defamatory, commercial use images or those protected by a court order.

As our club mainly plays on Local Government Council playing fields and parks open to the public, there is a strong likelihood of players be photographed for legitimate purposes such as personal or training reasons or the promotion of netball.

So that Arncliffe Scots Netball Club (ASNC) members are aware that photos and videos arelikely to be taken, ASNC will have players/parents acknowledge this fact on its registration page and make this policy available on its website.

In general, the club encourages our members to take photos or videos of their team and share them on our social media sites or with the club to share or use on our website.

Regardless of the above, The ASNC requests all members and spectators cease photography or videoing if requested by a player on court, parent of a player on court, the umpires or aclub official.

If a parent does not wish their child to be in photo’s/videos used in the clubs social media platforms, website or development purposes, they should email the club at arncliffescotsnetball@outlook.com with the players full name and division/age group/team and preferably a reason. This should be done each time the player registers.

Those who do not specify their wish for any photo’s/videos not to be used will be considered providing their permission for their child to be featured in photos or videos on the club’s website, social media pages.

This notwithstanding, the club will endeavour to remove any posted photo or video on the club’s social media or website at the later request of a player/parent.

Video and live Streaming of games

In 2021, Arncliffe Scots Netball Club are considering trialling the videoing and / or live streaming of some games. If you do not wish yourself or your child to be videoed in this manner please email the club at arncliffescotsnetbal@outlook.com.
